This Fees & Commissions Policy explains the standard fees charged by BidZombie for auction and Buy Now transactions.
This Policy applies to buyers, bidders, and sellers using BidZombie and should be read together with the BidZombie Terms & Conditions, Seller Policy, Bidder & Buyer Policy, Shipping, Pickup & Auction Payment Policy, Returns & Refunds Policy, and other applicable BidZombie policies.
BidZombie may offer promotional rates, reduced fees, category-specific rates, or other pricing from time to time. Unless otherwise stated, the standard fees below apply.
1. Auction Seller Commission
For auction transactions, BidZombie charges the seller a commission equal to 5% of the final winning bid amount.
The seller commission is calculated on the item’s final auction price, also known as the hammer price.
Unless otherwise disclosed, the seller commission is not calculated on:
- Sales tax
- Shipping charges
- Buyer’s premium
- Other amounts collected solely on behalf of third parties
Example:
- Winning bid: $100.00
- Seller commission: 5%
- Seller commission due to BidZombie: $5.00
2. Auction Buyer’s Premium
For auction transactions, BidZombie charges the winning bidder a 10% buyer’s premium based on the final winning bid amount.
The buyer’s premium is added to the winning bid and is part of the buyer’s total transaction amount.
Example:
- Winning bid: $100.00
- Buyer’s premium: 10%
- Buyer’s premium: $10.00
- Buyer subtotal before tax and shipping: $110.00
Applicable sales tax and shipping charges may be added separately.
3. Buy Now Seller Commission
For Buy Now transactions, BidZombie charges the seller a commission equal to 8% of the item sale price.
Unless otherwise disclosed, this commission is not calculated on:
- Sales tax
- Shipping charges
- Other amounts collected solely on behalf of third parties
Example:
- Buy Now item price: $100.00
- Seller commission: 8%
- Seller commission due to BidZombie: $8.00
4. Buy Now Buyer Fees
BidZombie does not currently charge a buyer’s premium on Buy Now purchases.
Buyers remain responsible for the listed purchase price, applicable sales tax, shipping, handling, or other charges clearly disclosed before checkout.
5. Payment Processing Fees
Payments may be processed through third-party payment processors, including Stripe.
At the current launch fee structure, BidZombie does not separately add a payment-processing surcharge to buyers.
BidZombie may absorb payment-processing costs as part of its marketplace fees unless another arrangement is clearly disclosed before the transaction.
BidZombie may revise how payment-processing costs are handled in the future by updating this Policy or providing applicable notice.
6. Sales Tax
Sales tax is not a BidZombie commission or buyer’s premium.
Where required by law, sales tax may be calculated and collected separately based on factors including:
- Buyer location
- Seller location
- Item type
- Shipping destination
- Applicable state or local tax rules
The amount of sales tax collected does not reduce or replace applicable BidZombie marketplace fees.
7. Shipping and Handling
Shipping and handling charges are separate from BidZombie seller commissions and buyer’s premiums unless otherwise expressly stated.
Buyers are responsible for shipping and handling charges disclosed before completing the transaction.
Sellers are responsible for accurately disclosing applicable shipping or pickup terms.
8. Seller Payouts
When BidZombie supports third-party seller payouts, applicable seller commissions and other authorized amounts may be deducted from the seller’s proceeds before payout.
A seller payout may generally consist of the item sale proceeds minus:
- Applicable seller commission
- Refunds
- Chargebacks
- Payment reversals
- Amounts owed to BidZombie
- Other authorized deductions disclosed under applicable policies
Payout timing may be subject to payment processing, fraud review, delivery confirmation, identity verification, or other reasonable marketplace requirements.
9. Refunds
When a transaction is fully refunded to the buyer, BidZombie may also reverse or refund applicable buyer premiums or seller commissions when appropriate under the Returns & Refunds Policy.
However, certain third-party processing costs or other nonrecoverable expenses may not be refundable to the seller where permitted by law and disclosed by BidZombie.
If a refund results from seller error, misrepresentation, failure to fulfill the transaction, or a policy violation, BidZombie may deduct applicable losses or costs from seller proceeds where permitted.
10. Partial Refunds
For partial refunds, marketplace fees may be adjusted proportionally or handled as reasonably appropriate based on the reason for the refund and transaction circumstances.
BidZombie may determine the appropriate fee adjustment consistent with applicable law and marketplace policies.
11. Canceled Transactions
If an auction or purchase is canceled before payment or completion, applicable fees may be waived, reversed, or removed where appropriate.
If a transaction is canceled because of seller misconduct, buyer misconduct, fraud, fee circumvention, or another policy violation, BidZombie may retain or assess fees where permitted by law.
12. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes
If a buyer initiates a chargeback or payment dispute, BidZombie may temporarily hold funds associated with the transaction.
If a payment provider reverses the transaction, BidZombie may recover the disputed amount and any applicable costs from seller funds, future payouts, or other permitted sources where the seller is responsible under BidZombie policies.
Fraudulent or abusive chargebacks may result in buyer account restrictions.
13. Off-Platform Transactions and Fee Avoidance
Users may not attempt to avoid BidZombie fees by moving a transaction off-platform after a buyer and seller connect through BidZombie.
Prohibited conduct includes:
- Asking a buyer to pay outside BidZombie to avoid fees
- Canceling a BidZombie sale and completing the same transaction privately
- Misrepresenting a sale price to reduce fees
- Creating false shipping or adjustment charges to shift the transaction value
BidZombie may assess applicable fees and restrict or terminate accounts for fee circumvention.
14. Promotional and Reduced Fees
BidZombie may offer temporary or permanent promotional rates, seller incentives, reduced commissions, coupons, category-specific rates, or other special pricing.
Promotional pricing may be subject to separate eligibility rules, expiration dates, or conditions.
Unless stated otherwise, promotional rates apply only during the period and under the conditions specified by BidZombie.
15. Future Seller Programs
BidZombie may introduce different seller tiers, volume discounts, subscription plans, featured-listing fees, enhanced promotion options, or other seller services in the future.
Any such fees will be disclosed before they are charged.
16. Fee Changes
BidZombie may change its marketplace fees from time to time.
Changes will apply prospectively and will not retroactively increase fees on transactions completed before the new fee schedule becomes effective.
The current version of this Fees & Commissions Policy posted on BidZombie will govern transactions from its effective date forward.
Where reasonably appropriate or legally required, BidZombie may provide advance notice of material fee changes.
17. Fee Disclosure
BidZombie aims to make applicable marketplace fees reasonably clear before a user enters a transaction.
Auction buyers should review the applicable buyer’s premium before bidding.
Sellers should review applicable seller commissions before listing items.
Buy Now buyers should review the total purchase price, shipping, taxes, and other disclosed charges before checkout.

Sales tax, shipping, handling, or other properly disclosed transaction-specific charges may apply separately.
